Rules of the Contest:
All entries, whether uploaded or mailed, must be received by Dyslexic Advantage by:
4 pm January 21, 2015.
- A maximum of 1 submission in each category will be accepted.
- Single author only submissions are accepted (i.e. no co-written stories).
- Word length: 17 (Haiku) to 700 words maximum.
- For stories longer than 700 words, chapters or excerpts should be submitted.
- Stories should be typed in at least a 12 point font and the student’s name placed at the top of every page.
- Students are permitted to dictate their stories to a parent, teacher, or other adult.
Submission of the entry form constitutes permission from the participant’s legal guardian to use the participant’s first name, likeness, age, and written work contained in the entry form, photographs, and any statements or remarks made about the contest in promotion or advertising without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law.
Each participant’s parent / legal guardian, on behalf of the participant, agrees to release and hold Dyslexic Advantage and its employees, officers, directors, and representatives harmless for any and all damages, losses, claims and liabilities arising out of participating in the contest or resulting from accepting or claiming of any prize. Income and all other taxes are the responsibility of the prize recipient. Dyslexic Advantage is not responsible for any expenses incurred in connection with participation in the contest. Participants give Dyslexic Advantage non-exclusive rights to post written work (with first name only) online or in printed material for purposes related to the mission of the non-profit organization.
