Ages 7-11
This Meetup is a hub for encouraging parents and enthusiastic Young Writers (ages 7-11). We explore the craft of writing compelling stories, share techniques to help us find our sense of flow, and exchange fun ideas in a supportive community. Most of all, we have fun with like-minded families who value reading, writing, and understand the power of the written word.
Our events include guest speakers such as published authors, literary agents, booksellers, illustrators, etc. On occasion, we will venture out on special field trips.

Imagine your teen entering a well-lit room full of aspiring writers, speaking with excitement and laughter. Some are reading their stories aloud. Others ask for feedback on their blog posts and college essays. Still others are working on their short fiction piece for the Teen Writers Anthology. The energy is contagious.
Is your teen curious about joining a group of Teen Writers who share their passion for writing?
As a parent, would you like to encourage their writing while learning powerful new tools and techniques to develop their skills?
Has your teen expressed a desire to get published?
If you think your teen would say "Yes!" to any of these questions, then you've found the right place.
We bring together parents and their enthusiastic teen writers, ages 12-18, in an informal workshop setting to hone both their creative writing and academic writing skills. Writers of all levels, media, and genres are welcome, including short stories, poetry, novels, comic books, graphic novels, screenplays, and research topics.
