I love vetted lists. Below are 3 Book lists from the New York Library.
This is a mixture of picture books and chapter books for readers up to 12 years old.
Of course, these books are not only for children to enjoy! They’re all wonderful! I know many adults who only read early chapter books and teen fiction.
On another level, this is a great list for gifting to other children for birthdays or Christmas as they all have timeless themes.

We know this post seems short, and there are other fine lists from other libraries, but know for sure we will add them to our blog as a reference.
In the meantime, if you don’t know where to start with reading and inspiration for writing, this is a good national book list to start. They contain some timeless classics as well as some not so well known titles that deserve to be.
