Deep in the forest, James ran. His heart was beating like a drum solo. He didn’t dare to look behind him, scared of what he would see.
“This isn’t true!” he yelled trying to convince himself but only failing more.
“Oh yes it is!” said a raspy voice that was too close for comfort.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” James yelled as a huge paw came towards him.
Too late to duck.
Game Over.
“Aww man,” said James. “I had almost gotten away from him.”
“No way,” said Adam, his best friend. “You had such little energy, you couldn’t run another foot."
“Well,” James said as he started to fold up his white sleeves, “the Scarewolf is almost impossible to defeat. I’d do anything to beat him.”
Forest of Secrets was the newest craze all around the world. The point was to kill monsters and unlock coins. With the coins, you can buy secrets. And when you buy all the secrets, you can face the ultimate boss. When you finally beat him, you have officially finished the video game! The ultimate boss is a huge secret to everybody.
“Night, James,” said Adam as he left the room.
“I’ll play one more round before going to eat dinner,” thought James. But when he turned on the screen, instead of the normal home page, a mysterious image of the Scarewolf appeared.
“How would you like to get unlimited secrets, James?” said a familiar raspy voice.
“I’m in,” said James, unknowing of what would happen next. “Huhh?” he said when a tingling feeling started to buzz in his toes. “This isn't part of the deal.”
“I’m altering the deal,” said the Scarewolf.
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, a creepy noise played in the background while James’ body started to hunch, then blue fur engulfed his body. Then he enlarged and muscles grew while his t-shirt ripped. Then his fingernails started to grow and they sharpened. Finally his ears started to point. James was no longer a human. “All deals are final,” said a raspy voice coming out of the wrong mouth…
Meanwhile…
Adam was just about to leave when he heard a loud Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz coming from James' room. “I probably shouldn’t go check that out”, Adam thought but curiosity won the battle and he ran up the stairs. There he saw James change. Adam gagged as he saw the final form. Big Mistake. The Scarewolf’s sensitive hearing immediately decided to attack the sole person who now knew his secret. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Adam yelled as a huge paw came towards him.
Too late to duck.
Game Over.
